What is separately regulated packaging?
It is a packaging use or product category that can require a different route, such as food-contact packaging, certain immediate-consumption containers or wrappers, drink containers and deposits, lightweight carrier bags, hazardous contents or returnable systems. It is not determined by plastic, glass, paper or metal alone. This release handles ordinary packaging only.

Physical Etsy goods shipped in common product or delivery packaging: paper and cardboard boxes, sleeves and tissue; plastic mailers, film, bubble wrap and tape; glass, metal, wood or textile packaging; and mixed-material packaging. Record the actual materials and weights. A plastic mailer alone does not make a separately regulated single-use plastic product.
Outside this release: separately regulated packaging
The use or product category can trigger a different route, whatever its material: packaging touching food, immediate-consumption food containers or wrappers, drink cups or containers, deposit containers, lightweight carrier bags, packaging for hazardous contents, and returnable or reusable schemes. Paper, plastic, glass and metal can each appear in these cases. These are examples to flag for review, not a legal classification of every item.

No, not automatically. PPWR gives relevant online platforms duties to obtain or check certain producer-registration and EPR information. ParcelKind still assesses the seller or producer obligations and asks for evidence where another party is mandated to act.
Do I become an importer if I buy boxes outside the EU?
You may have importer responsibilities, but the result depends on the supply route and who first places the packaging on the Union market. ParcelKind asks the surrounding facts before showing a role conclusion.
Does ParcelKind test PFAS or heavy metals?
No. It flags the requirement, records supplier or laboratory evidence and keeps unknowns visible. It does not test or certify chemical composition.
Does the empty-space limit apply in 2026?
No. Article 24 sets a future maximum of 50% for grouped, transport and e-commerce packaging, from 1 January 2030 or three years after the relevant implementing acts enter into force, whichever is later. ParcelKind does not use it as a 2026 blocker.
